Trial of Hunter Biden
The trial of Biden Jr. began last week in Delaware. The allegations date back to 2018, when Hunter Biden, a crack addict, hid it while purchasing a gun.
After the jury's verdict, the judge must announce the verdict. At the same time, the judge said that the verdict could be pronounced within 120 days, but did not set a specific date.
On all three counts, Biden Jr. theoretically faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of $750 thousand.
As the Washington Post notes, under federal sentencing guidelines, Biden, who has no previous convictions and has admitted to being a drug addict around the time he bought the guns, likely faces a much shorter sentence.
54-year-old Hunter Biden himself has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He can also appeal the court's verdict.
US President Joe Biden reportedly recently said he would not pardon his son if he is convicted of gun charges. He emphasized that he would accept any court decision in his son’s case.
