Biden's doctor met with Parkinson's specialist, CNN reports

The White House explained the neurologist's frequent visits

In total, Cannard visited the presidential administration at least eight times, starting in July 2023 and ending in March 2024.

Amid speculation about Biden's health, White House physician O'Connor took the unprecedented step of publishing a letter explaining the details of the neurologist's visits. It said that Joe Biden only met with Cannard as part of an annual check-up.

Before and after the pandemic, Cannard regularly checked the health of White House staff, including the president.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden had been visited by a neurologist three times during his presidency. At the same time, she refused to explain why and whom exactly Kennard visited in the White House eight times over the past year.

Jean-Pierre clarified thatBiden has never been treated for Parkinson's disease or taken medication for it.

News of Kennard's visit comes at a time when age, physical Biden's fitness and mental state have been the subject of intense scrutiny since his dismal performance at the June 27 presidential debate against former President Donald Trump.

In the 11 days since that performance, Biden has had to to prove to the Democrats his ability to lead the country for another 4 years if re-elected.

In the end, he withdrew from the presidential race.

Biden confirmed he was tested for Parkinson's disease

Both the White House and Biden were repeatedly asked about tests and visits to doctors in the months before and after the debate.

In particular, the President was recently asked whether he had undergone special cognitive tests. Biden responded that he is regularly examined by White House doctors. At the same time, no one advised him to undergo tests.

The head of the United States also added that he had spoken with his doctor. He said: “You are exhausted.” Biden emphasized that “being president” means “getting a full neurological exam every day.”

In another interview, Biden was asked if he had recently been tested for Parkinson's disease. The politician confirmed that he did.

I felt so bad before the debate, when I came back they checked me. “I thought maybe I had COVID, an infection or something like that,” the president said.

Biden clarified that nothing like that was found in him.
