Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has no chance of winning the war against Ukraine. Given this, the world fears what further steps he might take.
Russia started the war against Ukraine on February 24th. The Kremlin expected that it would last only a few days, during which time it would be possible to capture Kyiv and other large Ukrainian cities. This was supposed to show the “greatness of Russia”, including the military one. And then the Russian leader Vladimir Putin could feel like a powerful ruler.
According to US President Joe Biden, in late February, before the outbreak of war, Putin believed that an invasion of Ukraine would tear apart NATO and destroy the European Union. This should create a “new world order” in which Russia would play one of the key roles. And an article was even written about this in advance, which was mistakenly published on February 26, when the war was actively continuing, and the Russians suffered their first significant defeats and losses.
But it did not work out as planned in Moscow. The Ukrainians managed to hold back the advance of the Russian troops and drive them out of Kyiv and other northern regions of Ukraine. And many countries rallied around Ukraine itself, including the United States and the European Union. And now even those countries that previously maintained a certain neutrality – Finland and Sweden, with which Russia has a long border – want to join NATO.
Now the Russians are trying to focus all their efforts on the war against Ukraine on the seizure of the East and partly the South of Ukraine. This will allow them to secure a land corridor to the occupied Crimea.

But Ukraine intends to wage war until the entire territory is liberated from Russian occupation. Therefore, Putin has no way out of the war. After all, he will not be able to show the Russians “victories over the Ukrainians.” The inhabitants of the aggressor country will not perceive another, all the rest will be perceived as a defeat.
Putin is like a hunted animal. Still strong enough, but unable to retreat. Therefore, this can push him to rash acts. It is this situation that worries Joe Biden the most. According to him, Putin is a person who tries to calculate everything in advance. And this creates certain problems, because now he has no way out, and we are trying to figure out what to do with it.
