Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed on Friday, September 27. US President Joe Biden responded to his death.

He said that the United States fully supports Israel's right to defend itself against Hezbollah and any other terrorist groups. This was reported by the White House.

How the US responded to Nasrallah's death

Hassan Nasrallah and the Hezbollah terrorist group he led are responsible for the murder of hundreds of Americans during their four decades of reign of terror. His death in an Israeli airstrike is justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians, the statement said.

They added that the United States fully supports Israel's right to defend itself against Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and any other terrorist groups supported by Iran.

“Just yesterday, I directed my Secretary of Defense to further strengthen the U.S. military's defensive posture in the Middle East to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a broader regional war,” Biden said.

He noted that the U.S. goal is to de-escalate the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon through diplomatic means. Biden also added that there is an agreement in Gaza that was supported by the UN Security Council on a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

“In Lebanon, we are negotiating an agreement that would allow people to return safely to their homes in Israel and southern Lebanon. It is time to complete these agreements, remove the threats to Israel, and give the broader Middle East greater stability,” the American leader concluded.
