Biden may soon announce candidate to replace General Milley – NY

US President Joe Biden may soon announce a candidate to head the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces to replace General Mark Milley.

Millie's term expires in the fall of 2023. According to the publication, two applicants are being considered: the head of the Air Force headquarters, General Charles Brown and the commander of the Marine Corps, General David Berger.

As commander of the Central Air Component, he was responsible for the development of emergency plans and air operations in the area of responsibility for 20 countries covering Central and Southwest Asia.

General of the Marine Corps, 38th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. He held various staff and command positions, participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

As a lieutenant and captain, he served as a platoon leader of the Indian Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 1st Marine Division, and as an operations officer at the headquarters of the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion during Operation Desert Storm.

From 2009 to 2011, he served at Marine Corps Headquarters as Director of Planning, Policy, and Operations. And in 2012, in Afghanistan, he led the 1st Marine Division during Operation Enduring Freedom.
