President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. has declared a major natural disaster in Louisiana and has ordered federal assistance to complement state and local recovery operations in areas affected by Hurricane Ida, the statement said.
Federal aid includes programs to support citizens in disaster recovery, including grants for temporary housing and home renovations.
Hurricane Ida hit the Gulf Coast on 29 August. Initially, it was assigned the fourth category out of five possible, the wind speed exceeded 240 km / h.
