Joe Biden, during a speech in Poland on March 26, said that Putin cannot remain in power. However, immediately after that, the US Department apologized for the president's words. But experts believe that Biden spoke sincerely.

“Still, he is a man from the Cold War, he remembers what the USSR is. And I think that after talking with Ukrainian refugees about all the horrors of war, Biden sincerely said what he thinks,” Kasparov emphasized.

But, according to the expert, the problem here is that the entire US administration was horrified by Biden’s words, because then this would mean that they would need to take some action that would lead to this.

And most importantly, to fix that the purpose of the sanctions is not just to punish Putin for the war, but that they will be maintained as long as his troops remain on the territory of Ukraine, including Crimea, – said Garry Kasparov.
He added that America's goal is not to stop all opportunities for the Putin regime to threaten Ukraine and the whole world. After all, the US State Department is afraid. One of the problems they face is what happens if the Putin regime collapses.

“It's hard to believe, but I remember George W. Bush's speech in Kyiv in 1991, when he warned Ukrainians about the danger of nationalism and exit from the Soviet Union,” the expert explained.
