Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belarus summoned the head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus, Sten Nyorlov, to complain about the “Ukrainian drones” allegedly shot down over Belarusian territory last week.

The country's Foreign Ministry made its statement on Monday, August 12, reports 24 Channel. The reason for this was allegedly the involvement of European manufacturers due to the markings on the “shot down targets”.

Belarus threatened the EU with “expanding the conflict”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus reported that it explained to the EU Chargé d'Affaires the “position of the Belarusian side” in connection with the “violation of Belarusian airspace” allegedly by Ukrainian drones.

The presence of markings from EU manufacturers on a number of elements of one of the drones shot down by Belarusian air defense forces was especially noted, the report says.

They also added that such actions carry “the potential radical escalation of the military conflict, which threatens its serious expansion”, and hinted that this could probably affect the countries of the European Union.

Note that recently the Belarusian Defense Ministry made public the alleged remains of Ukrainian drones that violated the border of their country. At the same time, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry threatened to close the Ukrainian embassy in Minsk.
