Mariupol defender Denis said that he had been holding the defense of the city since February 24. In May, he was evacuated to the 120th colony of the temporarily occupied Yelenovka. He was in it for an exchange. At the briefing, Denis shared what happened there. This is reported by Channel 24.

How Ukrainian prisoners were treated in Olenivka

Denis witnessed how they beat his brothers in the colony in Olenovka and became a victim of violence from the Russian invaders. Captured Ukrainians were driven out to the so-called “search” in the hot sun, stripped naked and forced to squat like that.

Whoever raised his head from the guys, they started beating them right away. I also felt the blows on myself, I was also beaten during interrogations. They wanted me to sign all sorts of evidence against my command,” Denis said.

He also said that he saw how the guys were taken from the barracks. After 2-3 days they were brought beaten, with broken ribs and in a serious condition.

Despite the injury and serious condition, the captured Ukrainians were forced to run. Water was given only 600 grams for 2 days, it was not drinkable. There were also restrictions on food.

According to Denis, 10 people slept in one room meter by meter.

Russia did not comply with the Geneva Conventions, there were no no conditions,” he said.

He also noted that the invaders did not let the Red Cross into the colony.

the invaders wanted to transfer their crimes to the Ukrainians

The executioners wanted to ensure that the defenders of Mariupol take the blame for the war crimes of the Russians.

They wanted us to testify against our command, that we bombed the city, that we did everything … They wanted to throw their blame on us. I said that I would not do this, they started beating me with sticks, I never signed anything. There were always threats to life, execution, – said Denis.
