The day before, a very powerful “bavovna” was heard at the airfield in the Russian Engels. As a result, there are killed and wounded among the invaders, possibly pilots. 5 Tu-95MS strategic bombers were damaged and the control tower was destroyed.
The consequences of this “bavovna” in a certain way will affect the ability of the Russians to carry out massive missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine. Military expert Mikhail Pritula told about this Channel 24.
It is not known how many bombers are “on the wing” in Russia
According to him, the Tu-95, Tu-160 and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers are used to launch their cruise missiles. The Tu-95 has one drum, in which there are 6 cruise missiles. The Tu-160 has two such drums.
No one knows how many Tu-95s are on the wing now, because many of them are based at the airfields in Ukrainka (in Amur Region of Russia – Channel 24), Engels and also in the North of Russia,” he stressed.
The military expert noted that bombers had been standing idle at these airfields for several years. Whether they can fly at all is unknown.
The nearest airfield from Engels is 5,000 kilometers away.
“Those that they launched missiles on the territory of Ukraine, were based mainly in Engels, and how many of them were “on the wing”, no one knows about this. Probably, those that could fly have already been relocated to other airfields – out of harm's way,” he explained.
Prytula stressed that now these bombers would still have to land at Engels to recharge their missiles. Because the Russians store missiles in storage at these airfields.
“The service system is a very complicated thing, you cannot transfer it to another airfield. The nearest one is in Ukrainka at a distance of 5 thousand kilometers. That is, they will have to fly over 5,000 kilometers and fly to launch a rocket in Ukraine. This is a problem,” he said.

In his opinion, moving such missiles is also a problem. Even if they are loaded into the train, for this they must be in transport containers so that they do not get damaged while moving.
“The train will go there for at least 7-10 days. Therefore, due to logistics, they will have to take a break for a week, or even for two weeks, in order to start from the Ukrainka and fly to shell the territory of Ukraine,” the expert concluded.< /p>
