Battle for Serpent Island: someday Hollywood will make a movie about it

Great actress has a great new role/Getty Images

< strong _ngcontent-sc86="">Americans will make movies about this someday. All these movie stars from Hollywood will be quartered in Odessa hotels – the locals will begin to recognize Angelina Jolie.

Alternatively, Jolie will have the role of some kind of AWACS operator or secretary of the American embassy of one of the Black Sea countries, transferring the situation around Snake Island to Washington. Somewhere near Odessa, her friend, the Bayraktar operator, whom they met in Turkey at an arms exhibition, is fighting.

Blockbuster script

So, by the evening of May 5, they began to disperse the information that ours sank or at least shot down the Russian frigate of the Burevestnik project. For some reason, the talk immediately turned to the “Admiral Makarov”, although just recently his twin “Admiral Essen” swam/walked nearby.

One way or another, but by morning the Armed Forces of Ukraine added “+1” Russian boat/ship to the number of downed Russians. There is a lot of joy in our public pages – the Russians have a complete rejection. In the end, something fired at something, maybe they hit. Allegedly, there was some kind of video about a burning frigate (but this may be from a computer game) + aviation activity from all sides in that area. Hmm… Then, allegedly, there was an activity of ambulances in Sevastopol – someone was taken somewhere quickly to be treated. Wounded from somewhere? So May 6 passed.

But on the morning of May 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to upload one video after another with the work of “Bayraktar” on the next targets on Zmein. One or two official videos, one more from the operators themselves.

In the video, around 4 am on May 7, Bayraktar destroys a project 11770 landing boat (“Serna”) with an anti-aircraft missile system at the Zmeiny pier. protection of the Russians – either “Tor”, or “Pantsir”. A flat-bottomed small boat for special operations, which could deliver heavy equipment to the island, but in order to transfer a conditional air defense division or a bunch of artillery there, you need to make a lot of walkers to the island.

They still have one more boat of this project, but there are two more similar projects of 1176. But it is still necessary to reach the island without incident by sea (and these are still boats of the “river-sea” class). There are 4-6 more landing craft, but it is not a problem to transfer infantry and light weapons, but equipment.

Near the “Serna” you can still see one boat. To me, it looks like a boat of the project “02510” BK-16 (length about 16 meters, cabin in front + visual triangle in front of the cabin) – there are also two of them in the same 170th minesweeper division of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, where two Chamois are assigned.

Who did it?

Pictures of the comparison of the island between May 6 and 7 were sent during the day. The silhouette of the submerged Chamois is clearly visible at the Serpent's pier + many destroyed buildings. Who, when and with what did it? A flock of “Bayraktars” smashed all the buildings?

This was followed by a video from “Bayraktar” with the destruction of the Russian arsenal and infantry on the island. It turns out that Ukrainian aviation was working on the island at night, and another Bayraktar filmed it. As I understand it, a whole flock of UAV drones are actually working there.

Consequently, the Russian attempt to create its own naval base with the ability to control Odessa and the mouth of the Danube failed.

Interestingly, by the morning of the 7th, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had not updated the number of downed Russian boats/ships, although the shelling itself was formally still on the 7th in the morning. Will this statistic be updated tomorrow morning for another wrecked Russian boat? If not, then, most likely, “Admiral Essen/Makarov” was not incited, and we watch the video with a delay of one day, then the date indicators on the video are specially set late. Or are the dates superimposed after processing? But “Cerna” appears on the pictures on the 7th. Hm. Waiting for +1 to boats.

Returning to the Russians

There they “mock” us that the “Makarov-Essen” returned to Sevastopol or is standing there in the port, they spread their a photo. The problem is that they started sketching the numbers – so the photos with the number are old, and it's not clear which of the “essen” stands. Who swims too. And whether it floats, and whether it got into it.

It may be that they were just swimming to ensure the landing and delivery of equipment, the Neptune was launched at it (hence the rumors about the hit) and driven away (he moved away so that they would definitely not hit), and without cover, they went on to land the equipment with a group of landing boats, but “Bayraktor” and Ukrainian aviation have already arrived here.

The Russians generally interpret the video from the “Bayraktor” in their own way. Like, it was they who destroyed the landing force, some kind of Ukrainian landing boat “Stanislav” (it does not even visually look like the “Serpa”). And a bunch of “Bayraktors”, Ukrainian planes and helicopters.

They don't even bother that Ukraine uploads the video first + everything is confirmed later. They have their own informational truth there, just not to admit defeat.

The battle for Serpentine continues. Imagine that you are a Russian paratrooper, left alone among a mountain of Russian corpses and broken equipment on a small island in the middle of a sea that no longer belongs to you. And somewhere above you, Bayraktar is circling.

Hollywood credits followed and the phrase “To be continued…”
