The State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, reported suspicion to the battalion commander of one of the military units in Donetsk Oblast, who organized the illegal payment of combat bonuses amounting to almost 1 million UAH.

Battalion commander in Donetsk region caused state budget losses of 1 million UAH
According to the investigation, during three months of 2023, three battalion servicemen received additional cash payments allegedly for participating in combat missions at the front, although they were actually in the rear. The battalion commander personally issued false documents, on the basis of which illegal remuneration was calculated.

As a result of such actions, the state budget suffered losses in the amount of approximately 1 million UAH.
The commander was reported on suspicion of abuse of office, entering false information into official documents and issuing knowingly false documents, which led to grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanctions of these articles provide for punishment of up to 6 years in prison.
