Maxim Kirichuk died in battle/Collage of Channel 24
33-year-old soldier Maxim Kirichuk gave his life for Ukraine on May 22. The warrior was awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky III degree for courage in protecting territorial integrity.
Major Kirichuk was the commander of a motorized infantry battalion. He died while performing a combat mission.
The Mayor of Shostka, Sumy region, Nikolai Noga, noted that the death of a soldier was a loss not only for his relatives, but for the whole of Ukraine.
What is known about Maxim Kirichuk
The future hero was born in the village of Borovaya, Kharkov region. After graduating from school and serving in the army, Maxim entered the Lviv Institute of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaydachny National University of Lviv Polytechnic (now the Academy of Land Forces).
When the Russian invaders in 2014 vilely seized the Donbass and Crimea, the warrior stood up to defend his native land. He went through many hot spots – Debaltsevo, Avdeevka, Slavyansk. In 2016, Kirichuk was appointed mortar battery commander in one of the battalions, and a year later, deputy battalion commander for weapons.
By the way, the military met his true love in the war. Subsequently, his son Cyril was born.
Since March last year, Maxim Kirichuk commanded a battalion and became a wise mentor and role model for many Shestka residents. So he remained until the last day of his life, when he led a counteroffensive against the Russian occupiers on one of the most dangerous sectors of the front. Noga said.
He could cook borscht and feed all his brothers with it
The mayor of the city said that the hero was generous and sincere. He loved football, running and fishing. Maxim knew how to cook and had his own signature recipes. Sometimes a warrior cooked borsch, which he then treated his brothers.
The deceased dreamed of building a spacious and comfortable house, where he would invite friends and relatives. In addition, he wanted to arrange a trip around Ukraine and visit every corner of it.
He was never afraid of anyone and always told the truth. He was very humane and honest, worried about every soldier. In the middle of a military hell, Maxim Kirichuk did not get scared and did not hide behind the backs of his subordinates, but was the first to go to the front line, – said the mayor of Shostka.
The official stressed that the fallen soldier is an example for every soldier and military leader.
