According to the expert, shells and everything else that enters Russia from North Korea travel through this tunnel.
The SBU carried out a successful operation on the Baikal-Amur Railway for the second time.
How this operation will affect Russia’s ability to supply the front with ammunition and equipment, explained military expert, SBU reserve colonel, military counterintelligence expert Mikhail Pritula, reports Espresso.
In his opinion, the explosions of the Severnomoisky tunnel in Buryatia and the destruction of two bridges are a serious blow to Russian territory.
“As for the strategic importance of this tunnel, firstly, it connects the Far East with the European part of the Russian Federation. By the way, something happened there too, cargo is moving through this tunnel and along two bridges located nearby. That is, weapons are moving “To supply Russian troops, equipment and armored vehicles removed from storage are transferred. Also, shells and everything else that gets into Russia from North Korea go through this tunnel. They have their own branch there,” the expert said.
Mikhail Pritula explained that the delay in logistics on this route will lead to Russia temporarily losing the ability to transfer equipment.
“This is a very serious event, because there are no other roads there. If we look at the calendar and the weather forecast, we will see that there are severe frosts in that region of the Russian Federation, and it is not so good to repair those two destroyed bridges there. That is, this needs to be called trains, first to one bridge, then to another. And these are serious structures. As for the tunnel, it is 5 km from the nearest entrance to the tunnel, you still need to get there and pull out those trains that are there. Accordingly, it will still be necessary to check the construction structures, since under the influence of powerful fire concrete loses its strength. That is, it will take six months, at least until spring. And during this time a lot can happen,” said the SBU reserve colonel.
In addition, the expert believes that as a result of the destruction of the logistics route connecting the Russian Far East with the European part of the Russian Federation, China’s role in providing everything necessary will increase.
“Now China must provide the Far East with everything necessary, gradually mastering it. It is already possible to begin the Chinese five-year plan in that territory,” concluded Mikhail Pritula.
Let us remind you that on the night of November 30, an explosion occurred in the Severnomoisky tunnel on the Baikal-Amur Mainline (Buryatia). This tunnel is the longest railway tunnel in Russia. Four explosives went off while the freight train was moving.
The next day, another freight train was blown up, following an alternate route – across the Devil's Bridge.
While the train was moving at a high 35-meter crossing, the explosives embedded in it went off. As a result of the explosion, six tanks caught fire, and a fire train was brought in to extinguish the fire.
TSN.ua has collected everything that is known about these explosions.
