Baldo was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison for treason and collaboration.

Collaborator with Russia and former Kherson city mayor Vladimir Saldo was sentenced in absentia for high treason to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This is stated in the message of the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa. Saldo was found guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Among them:

• high treason under martial law (part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code);
• collaboration activities (part 5 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code);
• justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants (Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code).

According to the court decision, Saldo was sentenced for a combination of criminal offenses to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for 15 years. This verdict can still be appealed.
