East of Ukraine remains the hottest on the military map of Ukraine. In particular, the battles for Bakhmut continue. The situation there is very difficult.
This was announced on Channel 24 by military expert Sergei Grabsky. He stressed that the battles are being fought right in the city, and the enemy is crushing with manpower.
The enemy is trying to advance no matter what
Sergei Grabsky noted that Bakhmut is of great importance for the enemy. Therefore, apart from his losses, he tries his best to move forward.
“Let's just say, sometimes he succeeds. In particular, the northern front of the defense of Bakhmut. Especially after the loss of our positions in the area of Krasnaya Gora and Praskovevka, the enemy advanced towards Khromovoy,” the military expert said on the air.

Desperate battles are also being fought directly in the city. The enemy sends his main resource in waves, allowing him to deliver certain blows. According to the military expert, the Russians objectively have an advantage in manpower and it is not always physically possible to contain their attacking waves.
“I hope that our military leadership sees the situation better and takes the necessary measures to, if necessary, withdraw from Bakhmut in time, avoiding encirclement and preventing the defeat of our groups there. I think such work is being carried out and at the same time we are trying to hold our positions there where it is possible and expedient, first of all,” Grabsky emphasized.

Bakhmut overfulfilled his task
It made it possible to disrupt the strategic concentration of the enemy in other directions. Perhaps the Russians will enter the city. The story with Severodonetsk may repeat itself.
But we remember how the situation developed in the case of Severodonetsk: having entered the city, the enemy could not wake up further, having exhausted his forces. We don't know the details of what's going on there. It seems that the situation is complicated and requires the attention of our military leadership, which they are doing,” the speaker emphasized.
Bakhmut's situation: what is known
- Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Anna Malyar called Bakhmut the epicenter of hostilities and noted that Russia has directed key efforts there.
- The invaders mercilessly raze Bakhmut to the ground and in their propaganda media talk about the capture of the city. But the Ukrainian military continues to hold the city – political scientist, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Kirill Sazonov.
- On February 25, the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Alexander Syrsky, personally visited Bakhmut.
