Today, the enemy is accumulating an arsenal in the occupied territory of the Chernobyl zone. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine warns that under such conditions, any fire in the Chernobyl forests has every chance of developing into a large-scale fire with catastrophic consequences.

The video message of the representative of the State Emergency Service was published on the official page of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Facebook.

The message noted that the rescuers of the State Emergency Service are forced to put out hundreds of fires in open areas and natural ecosystems every day. Please note that these types of fire extinguishing trips tie the hands of our firefighters and take strength for urgent calls.

In particular, such uncontrolled burnings pose a threat to the national security of Ukraine, which is at war.

The State Emergency Service noted that a fire hazard period is now approaching, significantly increasing the risk of fire spreading to forests. And their extinguishing requires significant resources – both human and material.

The information that the Russian troops are forming weapons depots on the territory of the Chernobyl zone is especially dangerous. Since under such conditions any fire in the Chernobyl forests has every chance of developing into a large-scale fire with catastrophic consequences.

The situation can be described as sitting on a keg of gunpowder, because extinguishing the fire in the occupied territory is not only problematic, but not at all possible, – the speaker said.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine recalls that the last time there were large-scale fires in the Chernobyl zone in 2020, the situation was saved by the selfless work of Ukrainian firefighters, aviation and rain.

However, today it is impossible to involve any personnel , nor aviation of the State Emergency Service.

“And the citizens of Belarus will pray for rain when the radioactive fire reaches their border, from which they launch missiles at Ukraine,” said the speaker of the State Emergency Service.

Ukrainian rescuers support the demand to immediately take measures to demilitarize the Chernobyl exclusion zone and introduce a special UN mission there. Such actions should make it impossible for the further use of the zone by Russian troops.
