The commander of the Ukrainian 36th marine brigade Serhiy “Volina” said that the situation in the bunkers of “Azovstal” is rapidly deteriorating. After yesterday's air strike by the Russians, everything that was in the field hospital was destroyed.
Volina emphasized that now the defenders of Mariupol cannot provide elementary medical care to the wounded. In addition, the people of Azov have no information about the operation to evacuate the civilian population.

In Mariupol, on the night of April 28, Russian troops carried out 50 airstrikes. According to Volyn, this is the most powerful attack by the Russians, as a result of which, in particular, there was a direct hit on a field hospital located in the dungeons of the Azovstal plant.
The operating room was bombed, all the surgical instruments were lost, the equipment – everything that is needed for surgical operations – was destroyed, he said in an interview.
“Volina” added that, despite the presence of military doctors, the Azov people cannot provide full assistance to the wounded, since there are no more surgical instruments left. Also, there are no medicines in the basements.

Evacuation from Mariupol
So far, soldiers from the Azov regiment have not received details of the operation to evacuate civilians from the Azovstal plant. The removal of Mariupol residents was discussed on April 28 during a meeting between UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
“We have high hopes that the president will be able to agree to evacuate us or take us out by force. We only have hope,” – the interview says.
Volina added that there are hundreds of civilians in the bunkers. Of these, 60 are minors, the youngest child is only 4 months old.
