What is the principle of calculating salaries in France?
In France, the wage system is based on two key approaches: automatic salary adjustment (indexation) and a personalized approach to employee remuneration.

Salary indexation occurs in accordance with the inflation rate. This is provided for by collective labor agreements, which have legal force and are under strict supervision of trade unions. This mechanism allows workers to maintain purchasing power.
Individualization of payment, in turn, takes into account the level of education, professional skills, quality of work performed and the employee's readiness for changes and transfers. Payments in this case can be made according to different models, in particular:
- a fixed rate that takes into account the number of working hours, participation in the life of the company and personal productivity, without reference to the results of the team;
- base salary and bonuses, the amount of which depends on the effectiveness of completed tasks;
alternative incentives, such as bonuses for high sales or the opportunity to purchase company shares.
The advantage of this model is the transparency of accrual. Employees have access to information about the financial performance of the enterprise and understand what share of income they can receive for effective work.
What is the average salary in France in 2025
In France, the average wage level is not fixed by law and is not regulated by the state.
The amount of earnings is determined individually by agreement between the employee and the employer and is fixed in the employment contract. In this case, national minimum rates, overtime work, additional payments, bonuses and various types of allowances are taken into account.
A specialist's salary is formed taking into account his qualifications, education, experience, as well as the industry in which he works, and the economic capabilities of the company. The region also plays a big role. In particular, in Paris, salaries are higher than in the provinces. According to Eurostat, the net average income of an employee can be approximately €2,500 (122,100.50 UAH).
In 2025, the average salary in France is estimated at €3,085 (UAH 150,672.02) gross per month, leaving approximately €2,400 (UAH 117,216.48) net after taxes.
The profession of a secretary-administrator is quite competitive, especially if the employee speaks several languages. For example, a specialist who speaks three languages (including French) fluently can earn up to €40 thousand per year, i.e. 1953608 UAH.
Accountants earn an average of around €3,500 (UAH 170,940.70) per month, but newcomers to the field start at around €1,800 (UAH 87,912.36).
The average salary of a school teacher is about €2000 (UAH 97,680.40).
The highest incomes in France are in the field of corporate management. In particular, members of the boards of directors of large companies can receive up to €20,000 (UAH 976,804) per month. For comparison, workers in the tourism and service sectors usually earn up to €2,000 (UAH 97,680.40).
It is also worth noting that French police officers have one of the highest salaries among security forces in Europe – on average, they receive more than €6,000 (293,041.20 UAH) per month.
What professions are the most popular and highly paid in France
In France, there are a number of professions that are traditionally considered highly paid and are in stable demand on the labor market.
The greatest demand is for specialists:
- medical industry (especially doctors);
- legal sphere (lawyers, attorneys);
- financial sector (consultants, analysts);
- sales (commercial managers).
The average salary in France in these areas can be quite high. Representatives of some specialties receive from €5,000 to €6,000 (244,201.00-293,041.20 UAH) per month. For example, the minimum salary for doctors starts at €3,000 (146,520.60 UAH), and experienced specialists can earn more than €9,800 (478,633.96 UAH) per month.
Financial consultants generally earn around €6,250 (UAH 305,251.25). There is also a high demand for engineers with a narrow specialization. Their income varies between €3,000–€4,000 (UAH 146,520.60–195,360.80) per month. In the legal field, experienced lawyers can earn up to €6,100 (UAH 297,925.22) per month.
Representatives of blue-collar jobs are no less competitive – skilled workers can earn up to €3,500 (UAH 170,940.70). And French realtors, especially those with a rich client base, can earn up to €9,500 (UAH 463,981.90) per month, making this industry one of the most profitable.
As we can see, the average salary in France in 2025 significantly exceeds the average salary in Ukraine.
