Australia continues to support Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. So, the country imposed sanctions against Russian deputies. They did not ignore the Kremlin's puppets in the Donbass.

A total of 110 people fell under the sanctions. We are talking about more than 70 Russian politicians, as well as more than 30 “puppet” Ukrainian officials from the “LPR” and “DPR”.

Sanctions were imposed after the start of the assault on Azovstal

The corresponding decision in Australia was a response to the assault on the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol by the invaders.

Foreign Minister Marys Payne noted that the sanctions and entry ban, which affect 110 people, are a response to a violation of Ukraine's sovereignty. She stressed that part of the parliamentarians voted for the resolution. In it, the deputies called on Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Later, the majority voted to ratify the treaties with these regions.

Australia reaffirms our unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the people of Ukraine, Senator Payne said.

It is known that politician Oleg Matveev was included in the sanctions list. The reason for this was the spread of disinformation, as well as propaganda.

As the mouthpiece of President Putin, he even hypocritically advocated paying reparations for the damage caused by Western sanctions and the war itself,” Payne said.

Since the start of the war, Australia has imposed sanctions against 812 individuals and 47 entities. Thus, the country reacted to the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, which began on February 24.

The 6th package of sanctions is being prepared against Russia

The day before, the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell shared details about the 6th package of sanctions against Russia. It talks about restrictions in the banking system, as well as an oil embargo.

Yes, in Russia even more banks are planning to disconnect from the SWIFT payment system. In addition, a new package of sanctions should impose an embargo on the oil of the aggressor country. And it will also form a list of those who are involved in the creation and dissemination of disinformation in favor of the Kremlin.

Note that all over the world they are beginning to refuse gas and coal from Russia. The European Union plans to develop cooperation with African countries. It will allow to establish the supply of blue fuel.

At the same time, India abandoned Russian coal. This was done by the country's largest importer, Tata Steel. They will try to implement the corresponding plan in the next quarter.
