According to available data, a 57-year-old Russian man attacked two Ukrainians with a knife near the Murnau shopping center.

A 36-year-old citizen of Ukraine died from severe wounds on the spot, and a 23-year-old died later in the hospital.
After the crime, the Russian disappeared, but he was soon found and detained.
It is currently unknown whether the attacker knew the victims.
According to the press secretary of the regional police department, Daniel Katz, law enforcement officers must reproduce the course of events, as well as find out the background and motives for the double murder during the criminal investigation.
The criminal investigation department is asking witnesses to help clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
In particular, eyewitnesses are encouraged to report whether they are aware of a possible altercation or other events that occurred before the murder.
