Arakhamiya spoke about guarantees of “individual” security for Ukraine/Servant of the People press service
David Arakhamia stated that Ukraine seeks security guarantees like those set out in Article 5 of NATO. However, according to him, there is still a difference.
The People's Deputy noted that the only difference is that collective security – an attack on each of the members of the Alliance – is considered an attack on all. He announced this on the air of one of the regional TV channels.
We have individual security: an attack on Ukraine is considered an attack on them (on all countries that acted as guarantors of the security of our state – 24 channel), – said the head of the Servant of the People faction.
David Arakhamia indicated that Ukraine also additionally requires consultations to be held within three days to determine this:
- provocation;
- or a one-time aggression (for example, shooting down a Russian military aircraft that flew into Turkey)
“That is, we do 72 hours in order to hold consultations and if this is an armed attack, then the guarantor countries we must provide weapons, our armed forces, close the sky – we clearly prescribe, general phrases do not fit. We have seen from experience that these can be bureaucratic problems,” the people's deputy emphasized.
Who agreed to guarantee security
The parliamentarian pointed out that no one has yet signed the document, but some countries have already publicly announced that they are ready to provide these guarantees, namely:
- < li>Germany;
- Turkey;
- France;
- Italy.
In turn, according to David Arakhamia , The UK is still ready to consider proposals – there is no final agreement yet. China is showing interest.
Besides, Ukraine, of course, expects a positive response from the United States of America.
