Shelling of the Kherson region
During the day, Russian troops attacked Kherson and the region, where a pensioner was killed and police were wounded.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, as a result of a Russian attack in the center of Kherson, an 81-year-old man who was walking along the street was killed. And during the morning shelling of the village of Daryevka, a total of six policemen were wounded.
Situation at the front
In the Kupyansk direction, the invaders unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but managed to repulse six Russian attacks near Sinkovka and east of Petropavlovka, Kharkov region.
In the Liman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repulsed eight attacks in the areas of Makeyevka, Luhansk region and east of Ternov, Donetsk region. On Bakhmutsky — five attacks were repulsed near Bogdanovka, Kleshcheevka and Andreevka.

In the Avdeevsky direction, the Russian army unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There, 15 attacks were repulsed in the areas of Novobakhmutovka, Stepnoy, Avdeevka, and another 10 — south of Tonenkoye, Nevelskoye and Pervomaiskoye.
In the Maryinsky direction, the occupiers are being held back in the Novomikhailovka area. Here, Russian troops made four unsuccessful attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And in the Zaporozhye direction they repulsed three enemy attacks west of Verbovoy and Robotino.

In the area of the Demeevskaya metro station in Kyiv, shopping pavilions began to sag. Cracks appeared on the asphalt near the shops.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, ground subsidence occurred even before the closure of six Kyiv metro stations. The Kyiv City State Administration notes that the condition of the tunnel between metro stations is now stabilized and fully controlled.
Accident with Ukrainians in Slovakia

On the night of December 17, there was a drone attack on the Russian military airfield Morozovsk in the Rostov region. Russian tactical aviation aircraft are located there.
