During April, the Ministry of Social Policy sent more than 1.2 billion hryvnias to Sberbank to pay living allowances for IDPs. About 248,000 internally displaced persons will receive monetary assistance.

This information was provided by the Minister of Social Policy Marina Lazebna.

To receive financial assistance, Ukrainians must fill out an appropriate application in installments, in which one of the Ukrainian banks must be indicated for the funds to be credited. Subsequently, Sberbank transfers the corresponding payment to the accounts of migrants.

The government has extended the deadline for applying for assistance until the end of April. According to the application, applicants will receive living assistance starting from March.

According to the decision of the Government, assistance for IDPs is provided on a monthly basis from the month of application for the period of the introduction of martial law. In particular, the payment can be received one more month after the termination or cancellation of martial law. The money will be paid for each internally displaced person whose information is included in the Unified Information Database on Internally Displaced Persons.

Amounts of payments:

  • for persons with disabilities and children โ€“ UAH 3,000;
  • for other persons – UAH 2,000.

I hope that one of these days it will be possible to apply for a residence allowance through Diya, and this will allow anyone who needs help to apply for it without queues and unnecessary documents,โ€ said Marina Labeznaya.

According to her, the next task of the ministry will be to grant the status of internally displaced persons. As well as assistance for living to people from the de-occupied territories, where housing was destroyed, even if they did not move anywhere.

“After all, they cannot live in their own home,” said Marina Lazebna.
