Russian invaders never get tired of coming up with new absurd fakes. In particular, on May 3, they disseminated inconsistent information about the assault on Azovstal and fiction that Ukrainians were changing their citizenship.
The experts of the Center for Combating Disinformation have published a selection of fakes, manipulations and disinformation stuffing that the occupiers produced. The invaders are still trying to win the war against Ukraine, at least on the information front.
Russian Fake Digest for May 4
The first disinformation stuffing of the invaders was about the storming of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. Despite the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense that the Russian invaders began to destroy the firing positions of “Azov” and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian propagandists said that “there is no talk of any large-scale assault on the plant with the participation of tactical groups.”
The second stuffing concerned the sanctions of Western countries against Russia. The occupiers continue to try to manipulate society so that they are finally abolished.
Pro-Kremlin media reported that “during a conversation with Emanuel Macron, Vladimir Putin said that the threat to global food security is caused primarily by Western sanctions.” We warn you: this is manipulation!, the CPDI statement says.
In addition, the Head of the State Duma of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that the process of disintegration of Ukraine, which began after the “coup d'état” of 2014, is already irreversible. According to the Kremlin official, this is confirmed by the fact that today many residents in the West of Ukraine have received the citizenship of Poland and Hungary. This statement should not be believed, because this is a complete nonsense of the invaders.
About other fake invaders
- Russian invaders plant red flags in the temporarily occupied territories. Adviser to the head of the Office of the President Serhiy Leshchenko explained that they are doing this because they want to dissociate themselves from their atrocities and show “denazification” before May 9.
- Also, Russia again accuses Ukraine of developing biological weapons. Propagandists claim that the Americans are directly involved in this.
- Currently, people in Mariupol are in an information blockade. The invaders take advantage of this and say that they have captured Kyiv and are marching along Khreshchatyk.
- In addition, the Russians do not like the fact that Ukraine is close to joining the European Union. They say that no one wants to see her there.
- Russian propagandists also created a video with a captured wounded soldier from the UK. We are talking about volunteer Andrew Hill, who was part of the “Foreign Legion”. The UK Foreign Office is now investigating.
