The Swedish government announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine worth 13 billion Swedish kronor (about $1.23 billion). It will become Stockholm's largest package since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine.

It is noted that this is the 16th military aid package. As stated on the government website, Sweden will provide Ukraine with completely new capabilities to strengthen its collective air defense.

New military aid package from Sweden includes ASC 890 radar reconnaissance and control aircraft.
To enhance air defense, the support package will also include the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (RB 99-AMRAAM), which can be used on aircraft and in ground air defense systems. They added that the missiles will be converted for use in ground-based air defense systems.
Sweden will also transfer its entire fleet of Pbv 302 armored personnel carriers to create new brigades of the Ukrainian army. The kit will include Jaktrobot Rb 99 missiles, as well as artillery ammunition and resources for maintaining previously transferred equipment.
In addition, the assistance package will include additional artillery shells of 155 mm caliber, in order, as the Swedish government noted, to increase Ukraine’s ability to fight Russian units deep in the battlefield.
In total, Sweden transferred 43.5 billion Swedish kronor in aid to Ukraine. The government recently adopted a long-term program for continued military support to Ukraine in the amount of SEK 75 billion, distributed over 2024-2026.
