Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to Pashinyan's statement by saying that the Kremlin understands that heads of state have their own events in their work schedules, but this is regrettable, since meetings such as the CSTO meeting are “a very good occasion for the exchange of views.” and coordination of ideas.

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan told reporters on November 9 that Armenia is not yet discussing the legal process of leaving the CSTO.

Relations between Armenia and Russia have been noticeably deteriorating for a long time.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the external security structures on which Yerevan relied ineffective. Such statements were made, in particular, due to the return of Nagorno-Karabakh to the control of Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan also noted that Yerevan’s dependence on Russia for security was a strategic mistake.
