The whole country is watching the events in Severodonetsk. Our soldiers are fighting the Russians there.
The situation in the city was described by Alexander Stryuk, head of the Severodonetsk military administration, on the air of the national telethon. According to him, everything is complicated there, Channel 24 reports.
Our military should have retreated to more fortified defensive positions. This will allow us to defend in the future and save the lives of our soldiers. Unfortunately, the city of Severodonetsk is almost gone, – he admitted.
Despite everything, the Russian invaders do not stop attacking the city's industrial zone. There are people there. Strueck says they're in hiding.
Why didn't people leave
As Stryuk explained, those who for some reason did not leave because of their beliefs are forced to hide. They stayed at the Severodonetsk enterprise and believed that this was the most protected place. Until the end of hostilities, they will be in shelters.
Also, according to Stryuk, the Russian invaders wanted to blockade the city from the south. But they failed.
Those of our units, which were supposed to withdraw to more fortified positions, withdrew. Therefore, the enemy failed to cordon them off. Neighboring Lisichansk is now in greater danger. But it is more fortified due to its geographical location and the height at which it is located.
Why did the Armed Forces withdraw from Severodonetsk
- The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that Lisichansk would be better for defense. Most likely, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will depart, conditionally, to Lisichansk. After all, our main strategy now is to cause the greatest harm to the enemy, and on the other hand, to save the life of our military as much as possible. And if there are such threats, then it is better to redeploy and take more advantageous positions.
- The Ministry of Defense claimed that the Russian invaders had not abandoned their goals of capturing the Luhansk region. To do this, additional weapons are being transferred to the area of Severodonetsk and Lysichansk. And in some areas, the enemy prevails over the Ukrainian forces several times over. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the Severodonetsk direction, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery near Lisichansk, Severodonetsk, Belaya Gora, Volcheyarovka, Disputed and Berestovoye.
- At the same time, Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said that posts on social networks about the withdrawal of our military, before the General Staff and the defense department informed about it, harmed our Armed Forces. Ukrainian defenders and defenders are losing precious time. We are talking about a day – two, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine could implement their military plans and maneuvers, provided that the course of the military operation is not public. Thus, the APU was simply not allowed to complete what was planned.
