Statistics on the amount of equipment destroyed by Russians in different sources is different. Western analysts present statistics at least 2 times underestimated from the General Staff.
Military expert Petr Chernik told Channel 24 about this. According to him, foreign statistics underestimate the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by half, including in terms of destroyed tanks.
Russian tanks are already scrap metal
Petr Chernik noted that he tends to trust only the statistics from the General Staff, since they are the closest to the real one.
Indeed, in this war, the data of our general staff, I trust them 100%, they say that we have already turned over 3,400 tanks into scrap metal. Chernik said.
He noted that by the beginning of the war, the entire working fleet of Russian vehicles consisted of approximately 3,400 tanks. Chernik is convinced that Ukraine has practically destroyed all the working tanks of Russia and recalled that during the 10 years of the war in Afghanistan, the USSR lost 147 tanks.

The military expert is convinced that there are from 10 to 15 thousand various armored vehicles in warehouses in Russia, there was also information that Russia returned 30 working T-34 tanks from Laos.
Russia revives old equipment
Petr Chernik believes that the Russians began to re-mothball the equipment and, using the “cannibalism” method, out of 3 – 4 non-working machines began to produce 1 working one.
According to a military expert, Russia is only capable of producing T-90 tanks using the new technology. In one year, she will be able to produce up to 2250 of them a year.
“But these 15,000 pieces of equipment that are in warehouses are still weapons that will destroy and kill, so we will also have to turn them into scrap metal, and this is really hard work,” Chernik said.
Ukraine destroys Russian equipment
