The Mayor of Melitopol on the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the situation in the city/Collage of Channel 24

Ukrainian defenders continue to fight back the enemy and win back our lands. In Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are confidently moving towards the temporarily occupied territories and pushing back the line of confrontation.

Ivan Fedorov, mayor of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, spoke about this on the air of a nationwide new marathon. He noted that in the Kherson region, the Ukrainian military is already at a distance of 10-15 kilometers from the regional center, and in Zaporozhye they have advanced by 5-10 kilometers.

Fedorov added that the enemy is suffering significant losses. In particular, over the past few days, in the Kherson and Zaporozhye directions, the Ukrainian military liquidated a helicopter and Russian artillery “Acacia”.

Melitopol residents are fighting invaders

Seeing the achievements of our defenders, the already resolute Ukrainians are increasingly resisting the invaders in the temporarily occupied territories. They do not want to obey or cooperate with the Russians, and do not bother telling them about it in every possible way.

If at first rallies and protests were actively held in Melitopol, then after the infidels began to arrest activists, people moved to another stage of resistance. For example, cooperating with the power structures of Ukraine, they organized the undermining of railway lines and an armored train.

Now the partisan movement has gained new momentum. Melitopol residents began to poison the Russians who were stealing Ukrainian agricultural products, in particular, the famous Melitopol sweet cherry. Local farmers add deadly bonuses to their crops.

Locals refuse to cooperate with Russians

Melitopol residents continue to show the invaders that they do not want to live by their rules. For example, now in Melitopol, Russians are agitating the townspeople to register with their new tax office. However, for 3 days, since this system has been operating, not a single private entrepreneur has registered.

Kafirs are trying to carry out passportization, but there are no queues for Russian passports.

“This piece of paper is an escape ticket, nothing more. On the “Day of Russia”, which they wanted to pompously celebrate, only 15 people who issued this wolf ticket could be found. – said Fedorov.

Despite attempts to introduce rubles in the occupied territories, about 90% of monetary circulation takes place in the hryvnia. The Russians give their money only to pensioners – as material assistance. All other operations – payment of salaries, settlements in stores are carried out in hryvnia.

Sometimes the invaders send bills to Melitopol residents for utilities, where the amounts are calculated in rubles. However, the mayor emphasized that now it is not necessary and even impossible to pay for a “communal apartment”.

The fact is that all these payments do not go through the banking system, but directly to the cash desks of utility companies. There, collaborators or “leaders” steal this money from the invaders.

Will there be a referendum in Melitopol

Mayor Fedorov is sure that infidels will not be able to hold a referendum. “It is impossible because there is no support for Russians from the civilian population,” he says.

The mayor does not rule out that the Russians can create some kind of propaganda video and say in it that “there was a referendum supported by 99 percent.” But all this is definitely not about the will of the Ukrainians and not about supporting the occupiers of the civilian population.

The humanitarian situation in the city

The humanitarian situation in Melitopol is rather complicated . The first reason is the lack of cash. Although Ukraine is fulfilling all its obligations in terms of salaries, pensions and social benefits, the banking system in occupied Melitopol is almost non-functional. Therefore, it is almost impossible to withdraw cash.

At the same time, in the markets and stores that have captured the Russians, products are 3-4 times more expensive than in the territory controlled by Ukraine. Consequently, on the one hand, there is almost no money, on the other hand, everything costs too much. This is what complicates the humanitarian situation.
