Argentina wants to transfer to Ukraine five Super Etendard combat aircraft, which were taken out of service due to the British embargo.
For this purpose, President Javier Miley has developed a plan, writes the Argentine publication Infobae.
Argentina wants to transfer Super Etendard fighters to Ukraine
As the publication notes, Super Etendard fighters, which are planned to be transferred to Ukraine, are stored at the Port Belgrano naval base.

They are no longer in service because they do not have the necessary components to eject the pilot's seat in the event of an emergency.
Argentina does not have access to these components due to an embargo imposed by the UK, which will not allow the activation of these aircraft because they proved their strategic value during the Falklands War.
Therefore, according to an Argentine publication, the Miley government plans to circumvent the British embargo by providing Super Etendard aircraft to France in exchange for drones or helicopters.
And after that, Paris will be responsible for installing the necessary components of the aircraft to make them suitable for participation in the war against Russia.
The publication notes that this will also allow Argentina not to take direct part in the Russian-Ukrainian war, because the final political responsibility for providing them to Ukraine will rest with the Elysee Palace.
To implement Miley's plan, Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino secretly met with her French counterpart Stephane Sejournet during a secret meeting with NATO representatives in Brussels, as well as during a visit to US President Joe Biden's adviser Jake Sullivan, writes Infobae.
Super Etendard: characteristics
Super Etendard — French supersonic carrier-based attack aircraft.
The aircraft was developed based on the Etendard IVM. A total of 85 aircraft were built.
The fighter was exported to Argentina, several aircraft were briefly operated by the Iraqi Air Force.
Super Etendard gained great fame during the Falklands War, during which fighters using Exocet anti-ship missiles (ASMs) sank two British ships.
In the French Navy, aircraft of this type are being withdrawn from service; by 2015 they are planned to be completely replaced by Dassault Rafale multirole fighters.
Fighters for Ukraine
We previously reported that the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Kaisa Ollongren, announced that this summer her country will transfer the first F-16 fighters to Ukraine.
Ollongren noted that after the first deliveries of F-16s to Ukraine in the summer of 2024, the transfer of these fighters will be put on stream”.
