In the past few days, Aleksey Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the President's Office, has been involved in a number of scandals. One of the most “fresh” was his words about women in the Ukrainian army. According to him, women are allegedly not counted in the Armed Forces.
Alexey Arestovich made such a statement on the air of the YouTube channel ISLND TV. The statements of the adviser to the head of the Office of the President puzzled even the presenter.
What Arestovich says about women in the Ukrainian army
According to Oleksiy Arestovich, a woman in Ukrainian army is “horror”. His arguments are that allegedly men, who are in the majority in the army, do not consider women to be human beings and that there are “hygienic problems” for military personnel.
In addition, Aleksey Arestovich stated that women in the Ukrainian army are allegedly objects of sexual harassment, which surprised the presenter. To this, Arestovich recommended asking the Ukrainian servicemen, but not the activists. What meaning the adviser to the head of the OP puts into this word is unknown. Then Arestovich said that he was a military man, and therefore he knew what was happening in our Armed Forces.

Previous scandals involving Arestovich
On the air of Russian human rights activist Mark Feygin, Alexei Arestovich said that the main problem of Ukraine is that Ukrainians “they want to build a big state with a small culture.” With this, Arestovich argued not to abandon Russian culture. Later, Arestovich attacked those who criticized him for these words.
On June 20, an adviser to the head of the OP in his social networks published a post about “Ukrainian sex”, in which he ridiculed the activists. According to him, Ukrainian music, literature, e-sports, agro-innovations, banking, e-government and even the Armed Forces are striking only because there are “no activists.” Arestovich later called criticism of these words “the highest manifestation of narcissism.”
After that, Arestovich also noted a statement on the LGBT community. He spoke out against the persecution of the community, but called LGBT representatives “deviations from the norm”, expressed condolences and condemned “propaganda”. Because of these words, the Ukrainian public organization KyivPride, which fights for the rights of the LGBT community, turned to President Volodymyr Zelensky with a request for the resignation of Arestovich. There, the statements of the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office are considered unacceptable and emphasize that among the military defending our country today, there are also representatives of the LGBT community.
Arestovich himself, in response to this, published a photo from the film “Don't be afraid, I'm near” , where he is in the image of a woman and signed that “requires tolerance for himself.”
