The Russians have announced a new large-scale offensive, but they haven't launched it yet. Currently, the Russian military continues to advance in small groups.

Soldier and chairman of the Council of Reserves of the Ground Forces Ivan Timochko said on the air of the telethon that over the past few days it cannot be argued that the Russians have introduced a new tactic or strategy in Donetsk region, writes Channel 24.

Russia uses tactics like under Bakhmut and Soledar

According to him, the occupiers are using tactics that they have tested in the Bakhmut and Soledar directions. We are talking about the offensive of the Russians in small groups to increase them to the level of a company.

This happened, but it cannot be argued that it gives a huge result, says the soldier.

He also stressed that Russia at this stage of the war is forced to attack in small groups due to the powerful defensive line of Ukrainian troops.

“Any equipment that appears in the area of our positions is simply destroyed immediately,” Ivan Timochko said and added that this is why the Russians are forced to use small infantry formations.

The Russian offensive should have already started

The Chairman of the Council of the Reserves of the Ground Forces said that the offensive announced by Russia should have already begun according to Russian plans.

We do not know when it will start exactly, because any offensive is always a surprise. Each side, which is preparing for the offensive, is also preparing for counteraction against its own troops,” the soldier noted.

According to Ivan Timochka, the invaders did not start their offensive, because they understand that their attacks are in the amount that they have at the moment, they may choke.

Russia has not yet transferred a critical mass for a successful offensive

Consequently, Russian groups are strengthening. The serviceman emphasized that a non-critical mass of occupiers appears in the directions, which cannot make a breakthrough on the front line.

The head of the Council of Ground Forces Reservists said that the two sides are preparing for an offensive. For now, the question is who will be the first to be in time and be able to stop the advancing enemy forces.

He added that with Russia’s heavy losses, there is a risk for the invaders that the Ukrainian Defense Forces could break through their defenses and go on a powerful counteroffensive, like in the Kherson region.
