A coalition of Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia, on March 26 announced the start of a military operation. It is designed to neutralize threats to oil facilities in the Kingdom and protect global energy sources.
The operation was launched after the Iranian-backed Houthis (a paramilitary group operating in Yemen) attacked energy carriers in Saudi Arabia on March 25 Arabia. The militants launched 16 drones, ballistic missiles and projectiles at vital objects of the Kingdom and civilian areas.

In the Arab coalition said the operation aims to “protect global energy sources from enemy attacks and keep supply chains secure.” Saudi Arabia responded with airstrikes against threat sources in the Yemeni cities of Sani and Hodeidah.
