A court in the US state of Colorado ruled that former US President Donald Trump can participate in the presidential election, despite the case of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
According to the Associated Press, the attempt to bar Trump from running was rejected because it was unclear whether a Civil War-era amendment to the U.S. Constitution that bars insurrectionists from holding public office applies to the presidency.
It is noted that the court admitted that Trump incited the riots , but allowed him to run. Trump's representative in court categorically denied his involvement in the storming of the Capitol.

Over the past two weeks, this is the third similar decision in which Trump was allowed to run. Previously, similar sentences were handed down by courts in Michigan and Minnesota.
Cases to remove Trump from the election are being considered in accordance with the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. The authors of the lawsuits demand that the ex-president be prevented from participating in the elections.
According to the last few polls, Trump is likely to win the GOP primary. If this happens, he will compete for a seat in the Oval Office with a Democratic candidate, likely incumbent President Joe Biden, as well as several self-nominated candidates.
