Another Russian A-50 radar detection aircraft was probably shot down in the Sea of Azov area.
Relevant messages appeared online on February 23, both from Ukraine and from pro-Russian Telegram channels.
LIGA.net sources in the security and defense forces reported that the downing of the plane was a joint operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In parallel with this, Russian Telegram channels also write about the destruction of the A-50 over the Sea of Azov.
Videos have also appeared on the Internet claiming that the plane was shot down.
Head of the Presidential Office Andrey Ermak did not directly comment on the event, but immediately after reports of the destruction of the plane on the Internet, he wrote a laconic message in his Telegram channel: “Airplane”.
There are no other details regarding this event yet.
Recall that for the first time Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft on January 14, 2024. Such aircraft are in short supply in Russia and are intended to escort air targets and coordinate fighter pilots for missile attacks on Ukraine.
After this, it was expected that the Russians would keep their A-50 aircraft away from the front line.
