On the evening of October 19, Russian media reported the death of Yukos top manager Mikhail Rogachev. Along with the body, the police also found a suicide note.

It should be noted that in 2022, a wave of mysterious deaths began among the heads of Russian energy companies. In just 15 months, the deaths of about 40 Russian top managers, businessmen and executives were recorded there.

The Death of Mikhail Rogachev

Russian media report that on Saturday, the body of former top manager of the YUKOS company Mikhail Rogachev was found at the entrance to his house on Protopopovsky Lane in Moscow. It is noted that he has injuries characteristic of a fall from a height. The man died on the spot.

The cause and circumstances of death are being investigated. Law enforcement officials note that the deceased left a suicide note. Investigators are currently studying its contents. The preliminary version is suicide.

The media writes that in recent years, 64-year-old Rogachev suffered greatly from severe pain caused by oncology.

Deaths of top managers of oil companies

It should be noted that this is far from the first case of mysterious deaths of top managers of Russian companies. According to the media, at least 40 such cases occurred in Russia from the beginning of 2022 to April 2023. Such deaths did not stop later.

For example, in June 2024, former top manager of Transaero Sergey Bikhal was found dead in Russia. The man's body lay in the apartment for a week. The man probably died of kidney failure.

In particular, at least 4 Lukoil managers died under strange circumstances – Vitaly Robertus (cause unknown), Ravil Maganov (fell out of a window, the official version is death from a “serious illness”), Alexander Subbotin and Vladimir Nekrasov (acute heart failure).
