Another country has joined the coalition to clear Ukraine of mines

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that his country has joined the coalition to clear mines in Ukraine.

He said this during a meeting with his colleague from Lithuania Arvydas Anusauskas.

Dendias noted that Greece views the invasion of Ukraine as a gross violation of its national sovereignty and international law.

Ukrainian Mine Action Coalition

14 February Lithuania and 20 other countries signed a Protocol of Intent to create a coalition to clear mines in Ukraine. The leaders of the coalition are Lithuania and Iceland.

Back in July 2023, Vilnius initiated the creation of a coalition for demining and called on countries to join in training personnel in demining or provide the necessary equipment for this to the Ukrainian military.

On February 16, Hungary joined the coalition of NATO member countries that will deal with mine clearance in Ukraine.
