Ukraine withdrew from the membership of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The headquarters of this institute is located in Russia.
On September 2, Ukraine withdrew from the membership of JINR. Taras Melnychuk, Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Secretariat of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced this, in addition to the Ministry of Education and Science.
A message appeared in the Ministry of Education and Science that Ukrainian scientists condemned the detachment and inaction of JINR scientists regarding the tragic events in Ukraine caused by Russia's armed invasion of Ukraine, and therefore decided to terminate their membership in the organization.

It is an international intergovernmental research organization based in the city of Dubna in the Moscow region. The organization has been operating since 1956, its founders are 18 states, including Ukraine. Ukraine will not pay debts for membership to Russians
You have to pay fees for being in the organization. However, Ukraine will not pay the debt, including the restructured debt, that arose during the state's membership in the Joint Institute.
Ukraine has withdrawn from the membership of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, whose apartment is located on the territory of the aggressor country. The fulfillment of financial obligations to pay debts, including restructured ones, for Ukraine's membership in the status of a participant in the budget of the Joint Institute has been terminated, Taras Melnychuk said.
By the way, in March, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) suspended Russia's status as an observer country due to the war in Ukraine. In addition, the organization has ceased cooperation with Russian institutions.
