The Global Peace Summit was held in Switzerland on June 15–16, at which 78 countries signed a joint communiqué. However, even after the end of the Summit, states continue to join the resolution. Zambia was the last to do this.

Zambia did not take part in the Peace Summit. At the same time, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky noted the growing support for the Summit and its final communiqué on all continents, in particular in Africa.

The President thanked Zambia for its clear position

Zelensky thanked Zambia, which, together with other African countries, has a clear position on achieving peace in the world.

“Grateful to Zambia for joining the Peace Summit communiqué and supporting efforts to achieve a sustainable, comprehensive and just peace… Appreciate that Zambia, along with other African countries, is taking a clear position in support of the Charter UN, peace and progress. The peace formula is an inclusive format that allows each country to speak out and contribute to achieving common goals,” wrote the head of state.

The President of Ukraine also called on all peace-loving countries to join the final communiqué and the implementation of the Peace Formula.

Together we are able to restore peace, stable development and mutual respect in international relations , he wrote.

By the way, on Wednesday, June 19, it became known that Antigua and Barbuda signed the communiqué, although this country also did not participate in the Summit peace. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Igor Zhovkva said that Ukraine is trying to involve small island states in the fight against Russia. So, in addition to Antigua and Barbuda, Palau and Suriname also joined the resolution.
