Ukraine returns its fallen heroes

In addition to the exchange of prisoners, Ukraine is also working to return the bodies of fallen soldiers. As of June 30, 300 bodies of dead heroes have been returned.

Minister of Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk explained that the Ministry of Reintegration and, in particular, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, are in charge of returning the bodies of dead soldiers and civilians. The work is carried out thanks to the Red Cross, with which relevant agreements have been signed.

The Minister noted that the exchange process is difficult, since Russia, despite the desire to return the bodies to Ukraine, cannot provide the bodies that Ukraine requests.

It's a difficult and troublesome process, but we've been able to get over 300 bodies back. I hope that in the near future there will be regular exchanges again, and we will return the bodies to relatives who are looking forward to it. – Vereshchuk explained.

The minister noted that the number of bodies of the dead who are in Russia is unknown.
