An unpleasant thing: how dangerous is Russia’s rapprochement with Iran for Ukraine and the world?

In Moscow on December 7, Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi. They discussed relations between the countries, which are “progressing well.”

Former KGB and Russian Foreign Intelligence Service employee Sergei Zhirnov commented on the meeting between Putin and Raisi to Channel 24. According to him, countries pose a danger not only to Ukraine, but also to the world.

“This is an unpleasant thing – much more unpleasant than Putin’s trip to UAE and Saudi Arabia,” noted Zhirnov.

Russia and Iran are deepening cooperation

Countries are really improving relations – Putin receives real military assistance, which is immediately used at the front in Ukraine.

So, Iran supplies Russia with its drones, and also gave a license for the production of these UAVs right on her territory. Possibly also transfers to the aggressor country some electronic components that it cannot find elsewhere.

In addition, Russia is trying to get ballistic missiles from Iran, because its Soviet stockpile is running out, and not many new missiles are being produced. At the same time, Tehran receives food from Moscow and also hopes for support for its nuclear program.

This is very dangerous for the world. There are fears that Russia could transfer tactical nuclear weapons to Iran. Then it will be very bad,” Zhirnov emphasized.

First of all, this worries Israel, as well as the United States.

Iran threatens Ukraine and the world: latest news

  • Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called on the US and EU to work with Iran to prevent it from supplying drones and missiles to Russia. This statement comes amid news that Tehran may transfer ballistic missiles to Moscow.
  • Meanwhile, Iran is working on creating new attack drones. The country presented the Shahed-238 jet UAV with three different guidance systems – autonomous, optical and radar.
  • The IAEA previously released a report that Iran has enough enriched uranium to create three nuclear bombs. However, thanks to indirect negotiations with the United States, the rate of uranium enrichment slowed to three kilograms per month.
