An unknown object fell into a field near the town of Milakovo in northeastern Poland. The media noted that the object was military and fell near the border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia.

It all started with the fact that a resident of a small town Milakowo in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship reported to the police that an unknown object had fallen near his house.

The Polish tabloid Fakt first spread information that a military facility had fallen in northeastern Poland.

Now it (unknown object – Channel 24) is guarded by officers, and then it will be handed over to the army. “We will explain what this object is and where it came from,” said Rafal Jackowski, a representative of the Warmian-Masurian police.

Polish media noted that it was probably a balloon , which flew from the Krulevets (Kaliningrad) region, and there is no need to evacuate residents. Subsequently, the information about the military facility was also denied by the police of the neighboring town of Ostróda.

I confirm that this morning we received a message that in the field an object fell near Milakovo, now we can confirm that it was a meteorological balloon,” explained a police representative.

The police added that law enforcement officers have already recorded “many such events related with weather balloons in the area.”

Unknown objects in Polish airspace

  • December 29, during a massive shelling, the Polish Armed Forces reported that an unidentified air object had entered their airspace from Ukraine. It was visible on air defense radars, but the signal subsequently disappeared.
  • Witnesses reported hearing loud noise and whistling. This object looked like a rocket and was moving west. Subsequently, it became known that the unknown object was seen by many residents of Grubeshevsky, Tomashovsky and Zamossky districts.
  • At the same time, there was no information about the explosion. Therefore, in Poland they suggested that it could have been “just a momentary violation of airspace and this unidentified object returned to Ukraine.”
