Sports equipment is located around the installation. It symbolizes the sports that the deceased athletes were involved in, in particular, to remind us of the devastating consequences of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
This year, Ukraine will be represented at the Olympic Games by only 140 athletes. This is the smallest number in the history of the Summer Olympics for Ukraine.
The embassy notes that the installation is a powerful reminder of the enormous losses that Ukraine is suffering due to the Russian war, and a symbol of respect for those who gave their lives for the future of the state.
