On Monday, July 8, an explosion occurred in a refugee housing building in the German city of Buchholz in der Nordheide, south of Hamburg.

During a rescue operation, the body of a woman was found in the building where there was an explosion and fire. All available fire brigades, rescue teams and police attended the scene and people were asked to avoid the area.

There was a sudden explosion in the building. As a result, the object completely caught fire, the local police reported.

According to the latest data from the Harburg police, 20 people were injured, including law enforcement officers who were the first to arrive at the scene, and one of two shelter workers. Some of the victims are in serious condition.

Police said the victims were treated and, if necessary, taken to medical facilities.

According to law enforcement officers, detailed collection of evidence and investigation into the causes will begin as soon as possible after the fire and its consequences are eliminated.
