A new plane “Mriya” will be built in Ukraine. It will be created on the basis of the twin brother of the side destroyed by the Russians. Nevertheless, this model will beat all the records of the old Mriya.
Specialists are now dismantling the fuselage of the destroyed aircraft. Vladislav Vlasik, General Designer of the Antonov State Enterprise, spoke about this on the air of the telethon. 24 Channel.
The new Mriya will be even more powerful
Now they are looking for surviving parts and structural elements to use it in a new aircraft. Outwardly, it will not differ from the destroyed side. However, the designers said that inside it would be a completely new aircraft, and the equipment would be the most modern.
“The new Mriya will be even more powerful. It will weigh at least 10 tons less, which means the ship can take more cargo and fly longer.
A preliminary technical view of the updated aircraft has already been designed. Vlasik stressed that the AN-225 aircraft must be modernized, and it is not advisable to restore it to the state it was in.
Who will pay for the new plane
Rebuilding Mriya will be expensive. However, international donors can provide funding to upgrade the world's largest aircraft. However, Vlasik draws attention to symbolism, since the restoration of Mriya is the restoration of the country.
As soon as “Mriya” is rebuilt, we will be able to say that the Ukrainian aviation industry and in general the capacity of Ukraine has been rebuilt, – the general designer emphasized.
How the invaders destroyed Mriya
- On February 27, Russian invaders in Gostomel set fire to the world's largest plane – “Mriya”. A fragment of a video with a plane on fire was leaked to the network.
- When later Ukrainian journalists got to Gostomel, they saw a terrible picture.
- About a dozen unique transport aircraft were destroyed or seriously damaged, among them was the Mriya.
