Recently, the Ministry of Defense has concluded 16 government contracts with Ukrainian UAV manufacturers. In 2023, the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces will increase.
Taking into account the needs and requests of the Ukrainian army, next year it is planned to allocate about 20 billion hryvnias to this segment. This was discussed at a joint meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, domestic developers and manufacturers of UAVs. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry is intensifying cooperation with domestic developers and manufacturers of UAVs. In particular, 16 state contracts have already been signed with them recently.
Thanks to the work carried out by specialists from the Ministry of Defense, Ukraine has the easiest procedure in Europe for allowing drones to be used in the army. Previously, it lasted one and a half to two years, but now it is a matter of weeks. As a result, in the period from November 2022 to January 2023, the Ministry of Defense received 75 applications from Ukrainian manufacturers for drones of various types:
- 13 of them have already received codification, technical specifications have been approved.
< li>3 more types of UAVs are being codified.
During the meeting, the participants identified a number of tasks and steps to improve regulatory procedures. These proposals of the defense department were submitted for discussion by the Coordinating Headquarters with the participation of:
- Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov,
- Ukrainian Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov.< /li>
