After the paramedic from Azovstal, Ekaterina Polischuk, call sign Ptashka, who was released from captivity, complained about the command of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Gandzyuk, “individual facts of management decisions” were revealed in the actions of the brigade leadership, which could “negatively influence” to carry out combat missions.

Negative impacts of the decisions of the command of the 59th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade
— In accordance with the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a comprehensive working group conducted an official investigation in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handzyuk. Work was conducted with unit commanders and personnel, and an investigation was conducted into the decisions and combat orders of the brigade command. In addition, issues of organizing the performance of combat missions were investigated. The working group that conducted the investigation did not reveal any cases of issuing criminal orders.
At the same time, individual facts of management decisions and factors that could negatively affect the progress of the military unit in performing combat missions were established, — the report says.
In addition, it is reported that the leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces made “appropriate” decisions and “made” measures to prevent such cases.

Information on losses in the 59th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade
Recall that on July 14, a military paramedic from Azovstal, former prisoner of war Ekaterina Polischuk published an appeal to President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which she called for an official investigation of the commander of the 59th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, Bohdan Shevchuk. According to her, “criminal orders”, “conscious negligence”, as well as “neglect of life and health” on the part of the brigade command, led to the death of a large number of servicemen, including those in high-ranking positions.
The very next day, on July 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky gave the order to check the situation in the 59th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and clarify the circumstances of the recent losses among personnel.
