Security Service cyber specialists detained an agent from the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the GRU), who corrected the air attack on Kharkov on October 6.
The press service of the SBU reported this.
Law enforcement officers recalled that on that day the invaders attacked the city with Iskander missiles. The attack killed two civilians, including a 10-year-old boy, and injured dozens of civilians. Several residential buildings in the center of Kharkov also suffered significant destruction and damage.

It was established that in order to prepare a missile attack, a Russian agent gave the invaders electronic coordinates of the “targets” with location reference.
“The traitor turned out to be a man who worked as a foreman at a local enterprise engaged in the construction of roads and bridges. The Russian intelligence service recruited him through Telegram. Under the guise of work trips, the agent recorded the locations and movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region, the report says.

The man transmitted the information received to the Russian GRU through a “connector” from the temporarily occupied territory in the east. He turned out to be one of the former leaders of the terrorist organization “LPR”, nicknamed Shaman, to whom the SBU had previously reported suspicion.
During searches the detainee was found to have:
- 4 mobile phones and 7 SIM cards from various mobile operators with evidence of correspondence with the aggressor;
- bank cards that received “salaries” from the Russian GRU;
- more than 10 thousand dollars obtained by criminal means.
To an enemy agent about suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
He is now in custody. The attacker faces life imprisonment.
