The White House calls on the US Congress to urgently vote on providing military assistance to Ukraine amid massive missile attacks carried out by Russia on December 29 and January 2.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby stated this at a briefing in the White House.
— Over the past 48-72 hours, you have all seen that Russia continues to carry out drone and missile attacks, including ballistic attacks on Ukraine. These are not only military, but also civilian targets. Russia continues to try to use winter as a weapon, attack their (Ukrainian — Ed.) infrastructure, said John Kirby.
According to him, it is now very important that the request for additional funding from the United States, proposed by President Joe Biden, be accepted.
